THEATRE

NORTHWEST

Bringing professional theatre to the heart of Northern B.C.

Theatre NorthWest is the beating heart of professional theatre in Northern BC. Based in Prince George, we’ve been telling powerful, relevant stories since 1994 – right from our cozy, intimate venue converted from an old warehouse by dedicated volunteers. As the largest professional theatre in the northern two-thirds of the province, we bring high-quality productions to a region that deserves to see itself reflected on stage.

We produce modern, engaging plays – at least half of which are written by Canadian playwrights – and we’re passionate about elevating local voices, diverse casting, and creating accessible experiences for everyone. From relaxed performances to new play workshops, we’re here to entertain, connect, and champion the unique stories of our Northern communities. Because we believe all Canadians deserve great art.

MainStage Performances

We have 3 banging shows lined up for this Triple Threat Season! Come laugh, solve mysteries, and be immersed in different worlds!

Stage Readings

Stage readings have all the drama and emotion of a Mainstage performance, minus the set and costumes. Come see local artists bring a story to life through the power of voice alone!

Fundraisers & Community Events

TNW is more than plays – we have classes, social events, and themed fundraisers galore! One thing’s for sure: we throw a great party!

Accessibility

TNW strives to make our plays, venue, and organization as accessible as possible. This work is ongoing and improvements are always in the works. Take a look at what we’re doing now!

26 - 27 SEASON

Our 2026-2027 season is going to be bigger and better than ever with three spectacular productions! You won’t want to miss our mainstage shows: The Game’s Afoot, Liars at a Funeral, and If You Could Read My Mind: The Songs of Gordon Lightfoot.

Step into a glittering 1930s Connecticut estate where the line between performance and reality blurs in this razor-sharp comedy-thriller. When a Broadway star famous for portraying Sherlock Holmes hosts a holiday weekend for his thespian friends, a sudden murder turns the festivities into a real-life whodunit. As secrets unravel and suspects mount, the star actor must put his detective skills to the test. Packed with quick wit, vintage charm, and delightful twists, The Game’s Afoot is a stylish homage to classic mystery with a sharp comedic edge.

Funerals are supposed to be dignified, respectful affairs… so naturally, the Hall family makes a complete mess of it. As they return home intending to mourn, long-simmering grudges, outrageous secrets, and truly questionable life choices bubble to the surface at the worst possible moment. From ill-timed confessions to spectacular emotional meltdowns, no secret survives for long. Liars at a Funeral is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud comedy about the chaos of family, the art of keeping up appearances, and what happens when the truth refuses to stay buried.

Celebrate the timeless music of Canadian legend Gordon Lightfoot in this evocative musical journey through love, loss, and the landscapes that shape us. Featuring beloved songs like “Sundown,” “Early Morning Rain,” and the iconic title track, this theatrical concert weaves storytelling and song into a rich portrait of a life in music. If You Could Read My Mind is a moving tribute that captures the heart of Lightfoot’s artistry and the enduring power of his songs to connect us all.
